Cultural Design

Culture provides the catalyst for Designer to create services and products that are fit for their context but also innovative and culturally sensitive.

Our role as designers hinges on integrating the socio-cultural factors that leads to the final outcome. Now more than ever, we need to be aware of the impact of culture.

About

This site is a collection of articles, essays, presentations and facilitations on Design Anthropology, culture and design which I have authored over the last 2 years while enrolled in the Master of Design Anthropology at Swinburne University.

I am fascinated by Social Innovation, Public Policy, Migrant Experiences, Acculturation and the invasion of Public and Private Spaces by Technology. I teach undergraduate students at Swinburne University’s Design Faculty. You can visit my portfolio site at: juliecook.net

I enjoy collaborating with other designers, anthropologists or artists. If you have a project in mind, please get in touch.

Stay tuned!
